What’s up, everybody? Today, I have some exciting news I want to share with you.
You may not know this, but I started doing videos back in high school — in my very early years of high school. That has carried me all the way until now. I’ve had multiple cameras over the years, but as the years go by, I continue to upgrade my equipment and upgrade my audio.
Today, I have an exciting win that I want to share with you, complete with affiliate links for easy shopping. So without further ado, let’s go ahead and roll right into it.
The 504HD Manfrotto Tripod
So, the exciting news is that I bought the newest, best tripod for our videos!
We’re going to get a second camera, and as we were looking at some options, we saw that B&H just happened to have an amazing deal: the Manfrotto 504HD Tripod. Let me tell you all about this thing.
Seriously, this is the coolest tripod ever. I’ve been bragging to my wife about how excited I am.
As I’m unboxing this tripod, I want to tell you about it, and explain what the difference is between the 504HD Manfrotto and the tripod I’m currently using.
I have used these tripods a number of times, working on various video projects, but I’ve never owned one myself. And I’ve finally reached that point, thanks to all my amazing clients.
Here are a few features that make this tripod so amazing:
Multiple posts
So, what’s cool about this is that the other tripods I have, that we’ve been using for years, just have one post. This one has multiple posts.
This is the 504HD tripod with the smooth head. You can see how sturdy and heavy-duty it is just taking it out of the box. We’ll be able to use this for big shoots, for commercials, and for all kinds of cool stuff.
The posts on this thing are awesome. There are 4 posts for every leg, as opposed to just one skinny little post on a typical tripod. That makes it super sturdy — it’s a beast of a tripod.
Super tall
I can’t tell you the exact height of this tripod, but it stands all the way up to an incredible height.
I don’t know who’s going to need to shoot that high, but you never know when the situation arises… when you’re going to need to shoot Kareem Abdul Jabbar, or Shaquille O’Neal, or something.
You can lower it down as high or as low as you want as you’re using it.
Balanced swivels
Another cool feature is this little handle underneath, which you can use to adjust the balance without having to move it up on the head, like with the typical cheap ones.
I love this part of it: this little swivel head allows you to have great control, and all you have to do is tighten it up.
There are also more swivels on the side, that allow you to move it to the front and back, and it’s got the sturdy mount to balance it out. I can’t wait to set this up, and start using it for all of our videos.
We’re stepping up our game!
This might not seem like a big deal to some of you guys, but for me, this is a really expensive tripod. I think these things retail for around $1000, but I happened to get a crazy good deal on B&H. I’m really stoked to be able to have this piece of equipment and to step up our video production game.
